Ecluse de Treziguidy
Peaceful, tranquil surroundings in one of France's national parks
Welcome
Both cottages have been sympathetically and tastfully renovated, using natural materials such as wood, slate and lime plastering throughout. This means both cottages stay warm in winter and cool in the summer.
They also both have their own private rear garden and each has a bench where you can sit and watch the kingfishers fishing off the lock or pass the time of day with dog walkers or cyclists using the tow path
In a stunning location, just inside the Parc Naturel d’Amorique, you will find 'Ecluse de Treziguidy’ – a secluded lock-keepers cottage that offers peace and tranquillity whilst being close to lots of activities.
Built in the 1830’s the Ecluse is one of 237 lockkeeper’s cottage along the length of the Nantes to Brest River and Canal network. The property comprises two cottages which can be rented either together or separately.

Both cottages directly front the river Aulne and are reached
by driving along one mile of towpath. This means that although
Treziguidy is only a few kilometres from the principle town of Chateaulin, the environment is one of seclusion and tranquility with the only passing traffic an occasional fisherman and canal boat. A new boat hire company upstream at Chateauneuf de fou, uses the lock gates en route to Chateaulin and back.
The tow path is ideal for walking or cycling away from traffic. The riverbank teems with wildlife such as kingfishers, red squirrel, heron and coipu and the surrounding fields and woods are home to deer and wild boar
A wrought iron fence completely encloses the property from the tow path and river to provide privacy and saftey in your own little corner of Brittany!
